Tell a little bit about you, what you enjoy, how long you have been a therapist, etc.

I am from Glyndon, MN and am a senior at MSUM majoring in speech-language- hearing sciences. I am the oldest of four (quadruplets). I enjoy spending my free time enjoying concerts and road trips with my sisters. 

What do you like most about the work we do here?
I enjoy the collaborative work environment. It is very much a team effort for each and every client. Mental health is not put on the backburner here, everyone’s needs are met. I could tell from the first interview how passionate and kind everyone here is. I felt very welcome!  
 
What are you most proud of in your career so far?

I am proud of attending college full time while also maintaining a regular work schedule.

What’s one thing people don’t know about you that they would be surprised to find out?

I am a quadruplet!

What piece of advice would you give to your younger self?

Don’t worry so much! (I think I need to tell my current self this too) 

If you could have any superpower, what would it be?

superhuman strength

How did you decide to go into speech/occupational therapy?

I have always enjoyed working in the profession of helping. I had taken a summer job as an adaptive leader, and I connected with a camper there and took a respite position with him after that summer. I watched him grow with his use of AAC device and it helped push me to be even more passionate about getting into SLP work. 

What is one thing that you wish people knew about your job?

The scope of an SLP is much larger than just speech/language. 

If you had three wishes, what would they be?
  1. I wish snow stopped falling after December
  2. I wish to have a meal with any musician of my choosing 
  3. I wish AAC was more accessible for all 
What do you enjoy most about working here?

I love all the employees! I felt welcome here the second I walked in the door and that has never wavered since. I also like that Embrace is invested in my future as an SLP as well. 

What, if anything, are you currently binge-watching? Or reading?

I am currently reading Daisy Jones and The Six.

Ziplining with my sister
