Co-Owner, Occupational Therapist
My name is Christina Swendra. I am an occupational therapist and a co-owner here at Embrace Therapy Services. Since 2005, I have worked in nearly all areas of OT: hand and shoulder rehab, skilled nursing facilities and transitional care, acute care, assisted living, home health, schools, and as a certified ergonomic assessment specialist, work hardening and conditioning, the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and completed Preemie Clinic assessments collaboratively with Neonatologist and dietician.
Some of my specialized training and educations include the Masgutova Neurosensorimotor Reflex Integration, Greenspan Floor time Approach, Kelly Mahler trainings on Interoception and non-behavioral interventions, Beckman Oral Motor Training, Sequential Oral Sensory Approach to Feeding, Nurtured Heart Approach, Handwriting without Tears, Sensory Integration trainings, Herman and Wallace Pediatric Incontinence, several trainings in feeding, autism and ADHD, transition age skill development, executive functioning, and behavior, and many more!
My spouse and I have three children and live in Moorhead (Go Spuds). You will find us attending sporting events, pro and our own kids, playing cards and board games, watching movies, camping, biking, and spending time with family.
I love what I do because I can help kids, young adults and families be able to meet and conquer their goals, all the while improving self-confidence, social skills, and independence. I absolutely love getting to know families and helping offer support, ideas, exercises, games, and whatever works to help each person’s individual progress and brain. I have been very blessed to have met so many AMAZING individuals along my journey as an OT.
